Timpson Gray Allocations Accounting

Version 1.0.0

Private Equity Fund Accounting

Introduction

The Timpson Gray Allocations Platform provides a sophisticated set of features enabling any fund administrator to easily manage multiple investing entities. The platform handles even the most complex investment structures and provides individual and consolidated financial and portfolio reporting by entity, investment, tranche and partner.

A fundamental concept of operation is that there are events in the lifecycle of a fund which have an impact on the partners’ P&L, and on their economic interest in the fund’s balance sheet and portfolio. At the time each event is processed by the system the allocations to the partners is calculated and applied immediately. Therefore, the partners’ fund position is always available.

It should be noted that events can be entered out of order. The system is smart enough to calculate the adjustments that must be applied to true-up each partner’s position.

The events managed by the platform are:

  • Initial Commitments & Closing
  • Additional Commitments & Subsequent Closings
  • Transfers of Interest
  • Capital Calls
  • Partners’ Contributions
  • Investments
  • Realizations
  • Conversions
  • Valuation Adjustments (write-up & write-down)
  • Dividends and Charges
  • Income and Expense at either the entity, investment or tranche level
  • Capitalization of Expenses
  • Cash & Stock Distributions
